Getting Your Message OutGetting your latest press releases up on your website will help your visitors know they have reasons to return to your site again and again. But voters today also expect you to communicate with them by email. Our Campaign Hosting Package, Basic, comes with pre-configured lists, hosted at your domain name, ready for your campaign's use. Three of those are meant to support the work of your campaign's press secretary. Out of the box, we provide a distinct list for you to use in communicating with the working media. Another one for the public who wants your campaign's news. And a third list, weekly-updates, for folks who want to hear from you, but not too often. Email is a tricky medium. Many candidates have been bitten by the backlash against spam. Unsolicited mail sent through the postal service gets thrown away. Even so, your campaign message on the exterior of the envelope or your postcard can get read on its way to file 13. Unsolicited email however will attract bad press and controversy as voters are rising up in revolt against spam which has overwhelmed consensual email in volume. We host an instance of the Mailman server for each account. Mailman is designed to require subscribers to opt-in to your lists and to automatically append to each outgoing message the information to permit your subscribers to remove themselves from your lists. Taking such precautions may result in smaller lists, but you can rest assured that the folks on your lists want to receive your materials. That makes it much more likely that they will respond to your requests for action. Its another tool we provide to support your Press Secretary and your campaign.
