supporters.cgi
Hugh Esco of the Georgia Green Party and Kevin Murphy of the Pennsylvania Green Party teamed up to write supporters.cgi during the 2004 Cobb-LaMarche Presidential campaign, before CampaignFoundations.com was first organized in the Spring of 2006. Kevin is principally responsible for the subscription engine while Hugh developed other components of this project. That year supporters.cgi was used to raise over a quarter million dollars used by the Cobb-LaMarche campaign to organize for the Ohio recount. You can get a more complete sense of the history our Party made in Ohio that year by reading http://iwantmyvote.org/ and the report it instigated, Preserving Democracy: What Went Wrong in Ohio: The Status Report of the House Committee Democratic Staff.
This tool still provides a means for Green campaigns without an in-house IT staff to raise money on the web, identify and refer volunteers and to facilitate supporters subscribing themselves to Party listserves. In general, this tool gives our campaign supporters concrete ways to make real that support through their virtual interactions with the campaign.
These forms on the site of the Georgia Green Party show a typical deployment:
- Donate to the Georgia Green Party
- Volunteer with the Georgia Green Party
- Subscribe to Lists of the Georgia Green Party
Note the use of a template to match the look and feel of these custom forms to the site they serve. We can do the same with your site as well. Other features include the means to customize the copy to promote your campaign, the ability to add a thermometer to track progress towards a fundraising goal, a subscription engine which will facilitate a new subscription to a listserve hosted on most of the popular automated list serv applications currently available and a referral engine so that volunteers and supporters to a national campaign can be referred to local organizers and subscribed to local lists.
supporters.cgi is included in each of our Campaign Hosting Plans. We can deploy your forms as quickly as you provide us the copy. To learn more about how this tool can help you build your campaign, please call our sales desk today at 678-921-8186 x1.
